2009-04-18 — Nightmare on Warren Street
It was about 7:30am… I was unable to sleep, but continued laying there, hoping I would doze off. I remember hearing someone walking on the 2nd floor hallway, from Rachael’s room to the bathroom, then back again a few moments later.
BAM! I started getting sucked into the bed, or between it and the wall to its right (or left, whichever… the right side as your laying on the bed facing up, ok?). I was being pulled down into…. whatever (The closest I can describe it is, imagine you’re Johnny Depp in “Nightmare on Elm street” and it’s your death scene). I was screaming for help, but making no sound, I was attempting to hit the wall to alert others in the house, but my hits weren’t making any noise. I was slowly being pulled down into the void. I couldn’t get anyone’s attention to help me.
Eventually, I woke from this dream, saying ‘holy crap’ to myself, thinking, “That was unreal… I can’t believe that occurred….” Whew… it was just a dream… I blinked a few times, sat up, then grab a drink from my bottle of water (the kitchen is 2 floors away), closed up the bottle, reshifted and lay back down…. BAM! it happened again… almost immediately I was being dragged back down into the void. I was again unable to make any noise, no voice, no sounds hitting the wall. When will this end?!?! HELP!……
After I woke up, I sat up thinking, “screw this! enough sleep for me for now”. I got up grabbed the bottle of water, got my shows started to walk out and then realized….. the bottle of water hadn’t been opened.
I was starting to lose sense of when I was alseep and awake. I was still asleep, in a dream, dreaming I had just awaken from a nightmare. What the hell is going on here?!!
these dreams are getting worse and worse. In the beginning…. I could easily tell -while in the dream- that it was a dream. Great.. I’m in a dream (or nightmare, call it what you want, the process is the same), and I knew it was a dream, no big deal. But now… now I was having dreams, thinking I’ve awoken from a nightmare, grabbing a drink of water before laying back down to go back to sleep, only to find out I never woke up. ![]()
